Road Trip
Imagine your progress journey is a road trip. Here are a few reminders:
You don’t have to “floor it” to move forward.
The car moves as soon as you take your foot off the brake.
You don’t have to go from 0-60. You just have to stop stopping yourself.
Most journeys begin by putting the car in reverse and backing up.
Backtracking and reflecting may be an essential part of your journey.
Don’t resist it.White-knuckling the wheel doesn’t make the car go any faster. You can ease up.
The setup matters: map your route, adjust your seat, buckle your seatbelt, put the car in drive… this phase is also part of the journey. Don’t skip it!
Enjoying the ride and the scenery won’t stop you from reaching your destination.
Denying pleasure and peace along the way isn’t helping you as much as you think it is.
You do, in fact, have a speed limit. Obey it to keep yourself safe. (avoid burnout)
Whatever road you’re moving down, I wish you a safe and rewarding journey!
